Dr. Ruti Sella

Department of Ophthalmology at Boston Eye Group, November 2015

My name is Ruti Sella, I am currently at the end of my third year of residency in ophthalmology at the Rabin Medical Center.

I am married and the mother of two wonderful children, a boy and a girl aged 6 and 2.5 years.  I was born in Ramat-Gan and served 2.5 years in the army as an intelligence officer.

I have completed my B.A in medical science and my M.D degree at the Technion Medical Faculty in the city of Haifa. I completed an internship at Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot.

Since the beginning of my ophthalmology residency at the Rabin Medical Center, I have been devoted to both extensive clinical and broad clinical work as well as pre-clinical research activity in the department.

During the last three years, I have participated in numerous surgeries and because of this decided, to pursue a fellowship program with a major emphasis on anterior segment surgery and refractive surgery upon fulfilling my residency program.

I aspire to return to the Rabin Medical Center later as a senior ophthalmologist and seek a professional academic career at this outstanding medical center.

I would like to express my deep gratitude for your generous sponsorship which will allow me an extensive exposure to the field of my interest in ophthalmology in the United States.

I am positive that through the observership program, in which I will personally meet the world's leaders in the field of anterior segment surgery and will work with state-of-the art technologies, my knowledge in this subspecialty will deepen and will be of outstanding importance in positioning our anterior unit at the department to be the leader in this field in Israel.
