As a prestigious non-profit 501(c)(3) charity organization, the prominent trustees of American Friends of Rabin Medical Center host special events from New York to Boston, from Palm Beach to Las Vegas to Beverly Hills. Year after year, civic and industry leaders, diplomats, government officials, celebrities, and media luminaries show their support and solidarity for Israel’s leading medical institution. These events, while raising millions of dollars, connect their participants to the everyday health care needs of Israelis, and raise awareness of Rabin Medical Center’s successes as a global leader in health care.
The Annual NYC Gala benefits various departments at Israel’s Rabin Medical Center. This premier charity event attracts notable businesses and government leaders. Honorees and speakers have included President William Clinton, Prime Minister John Major, Governor George Pataki, Ambassador Dennis Ross, UN Ambassador John Bolton, Larry Silverstein, Mortimer Zuckerman, NYC Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly, Alan Patricof, Stephen Siegel, Robert Ivanhoe, and Alan Dershowitz. Larry King and Charlie Rose have presided as masters of ceremony. Each year, guests enjoy exhilarating performances from talented artists including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, and Broadway stars, Elli Wallach, Marvin Hamlisch, Chita Rivera, Robert Klein, Charles Strousse, and violinist Shlomo Mintz.
