L-R: Phyllis and Malcolm Trobman, Les Trobman, Desi Trobman, Brian Schneider, Mayer Trobman
This year's Miami Tropical Half-Marathon in January brought runners and observers to motivate and encourage the Trobman Family in their effort to combat cancer. Funds raised through their sponsors help to support the Charles E. Trobman Oncology Management Center housed at the New Davidoff Cancer Center at the Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikvah, Israel. The Research Center was named in memory of Phyllis and Malcolm's son, Chuck, who died at the age of 25 from a rare form of cancer. Chuck was also the beloved brother of Les, an attorney in Austin, Texas. Through the generosity of approximately 100 donors supporting this run in Chuck's memory, the efforts through this project and others in the future, will impact the way cancer is treated for us and for generations to follow.
The new Rabin Fellows program just launched by the American Friends of Rabin Medical Center (AFRMC) will designate fellows and support doctors, researchers, and educational/medical programs between the Rabin Medical Center and the United States.
As the rains begin and winter comes to Israel, Rabin Medical Center is preparing for the possible onset of the swine flu virus in Israel, and the possibility that many people in the population may be affected and need to be hospitalized.
Fewer than 20 such operations have been performed anywhere!
