An Israeli Soldier's Healing Through His Mother's Eyes: Rabin Medical Center Treats Incoming War Casualties & Their Entire Rehabilitative Care

Thirty-one years ago, Debra Weiner-Solomont, made aliyah with her husband and four sons from Brookline Massachusetts. A fifth son was born soon after in Israel.

Today, that son lies in Rabin Medical Center, slowly recovering from devastating injuries from an attack during his reserve duty on the Northern border of Israel.

It is a long and difficult journey that thousands of Israeli soldiers and their families now face.

Debra writes a deeply moving and powerful story of faith, hope and courage, watching her son slowly recover from his wounds, deal with "survivor guilt" and, with the support of family, friends, and the Rabin Medical Center staff, learn how to move forward.

Debra wrote: Facing challenges and hardships is an integral part of who we are as Jews.

Sending a child off to battle is one of the hardest things a parent can do. Our dream was to live in our country, for better or for worse. We have experienced the best of times and now the worst of times. I could not be prouder and more frightened than I am today.

We encourage you all to read Debra's blog in full as a testament to the strength of the Jewish people in the face of adversity.
