Dr. Michael Bahar, Head of Rabin Medical Center's Rehabilitation Department, recently spoke at the Mind The Tech Conference in London regarding artificial intelligence and its use in field of rehabilitation.

Dr. Bahar's Emergency Rehabilitation Department has been treating incoming wounded Israeli soldiers and civilians since its inception, a mere one month after October 7 massacre. The department, which includes advanced, dedicated medical equipment and facilities, is poised to launch into the area of artificial intelligence.

Dr. Bahar stated in an interview, “When thinking about AI and rehabilitation, it's very exciting, because we can use the power of AI and use the technology, AI technology in order to facilitate the way that we work with the patients.”

Dr. Bahar outlined how Rabin Medical Center will be opening a larger, more advanced rehabilitation facility this December, which he described as “a huge step” as it will be able to combine a wide range of programs, including working with patients with multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy.

He went on to explain: “One of the major parts that we need to do in rehabilitation is to assess the impairment of the patient… we can do it in the physical level, and we can do it in the emotional level, and we can do it in the cognitive part of the assessment.”
