Dr. Shirly Yanai

Department of Infectious Diseases at Weill Cornell Medical Center, August 2015

My name is Shirly Yanai. I am a third-year resident in the Internal Medicine within Department “D” at the Rabin Medical Center, Beilinson campus.

I studied medicine at Ben Gurion University in the Negev and completed my internship at Rabin Medical Center in excellence.

The field that interests me the most in internal medicine is Infectious Diseases, especially infections in immunocompromised solid organ transplanted patients.

In our hospital we have the leading and most advanced organ transplant department in Israel, performing over 75% of all of Israel's organ transplants, thus exposing me to many immunocompromised patients.

In July 2015 I intend to begin my fellowship at Weil Cornell Medical Center's Infectious Disease Department. The time spent with specialists in immunocompromised solid organ transplanted patients will assist me in extending my knowledge in this area.

I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of and to learn in another leading medical center.
