Dr. Amit Tirosh

Endocrinology-Diabetes and Breast Cancer Risk at National Institute of Health, July 2015-July 2017

My name is Amit Tirosh. I have graduated the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical School in 2008. I have specialized in internal medicine between 2008 and 2012, and I am about to finish my fellowship in Endocrinology in December 2014, in Rabin Medical Center.

I have graduated the European Neuroendocrine Tumors Society (ENETS) post graduate course in 2014. During my fellowship I gained experience in the management of patients suffering from neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) of varied types, including functional pancreatic NETs. I am lecturing regularly on this topic to medical student in Tel Aviv University, and shared my experience on this topic with the Israeli Endocrinologists forum. Within Rabin Medical Center I have promoted this field, and connected with physicians from several disciplines, including oncology, gastroenterology, hepatology, imaging, and nuclear medicine.

In order to provide high level medical service to patients with NET, I intend to further study management of functional pancreatic NET starting July 2015.

Solid qualification in NET management requires fellowship in high level medical center abroad, which specializes in management of NET patients, with high patient volume. Such fellowship will enable me developing this field in Rabin Medical Center, and providing patients suffering from NETs with cutting edge medical treatment.

The planned fellowship in the field of neuroendocrine tumors is of two years, between July 2015 and June 2017 in the National Institute of Health.

Thank you for all your support.
